One recommended order from first sitting to checkride week. Mark a guide when you have read it. Tools check themselves off after you use them on this device.

Phase 1 · Build the knowledge

Read the high-yield guides first. You can browse the rest later. 0/4

  1. Airspace

    20 min

Classes A–G, equipment, and how it looks on a sectional. Start here. It shows up everywhere.

  2. Weather

    20 min

Fronts, METAR/TAF, and go/no-go thinking. Pair later with the decoder.

  3. Navigation

    20 min

Charts, pilotage, dead reckoning, and VOR. Then fly the CDI trainer.

  4. VOR CDI trainer

    10 min

Drag the airplane until TO/FROM and reverse sensing feel obvious.

Phase 2 · Pass the written

Drill, then take figure questions and a scored quiz. Aim for 80%+. 0/3

  1. Flashcards

    15 min

Rate honestly. Use “Practice weak cards” until the stack shrinks.

  2. Figure written

    20 min

The real test is picture-heavy. Sectionals, CDI, W&B, runway marks.

  3. Practice quiz

    20 min

FAA-style multiple choice. Repeat until you are consistently at 80%+.

Phase 3 · Show up checkride-ready

Run the numbers and walk the oral checklist with your CFI. 0/2

  1. Planning numbers

    15 min

Weight & balance, density altitude, E6B, and METAR. Pick one and work a sample flight.

  2. Checkride checklist

    15 min

Oral and practical items. Print it and walk it with your CFI.
